High, low, elegant, sporty: here are the iconic shoe models to know!

We women have a weakness for accessories and shoes in particular: they define our look, make it unique and special! What are the models that have made the history of fashion, the ones you absolutely must know? Let’s see some of them with this post!

The shoe models are really many and for every single type of shoe, there could be several iconic examples. For this reason, I have not included the sneakers here: there are so many models that have become icons of a style or even of a generation and I plan to write a post on its own to deal with the topic. What you will find here are some of the models that have become characteristic of a certain historical period and that have remained current to this day.

Iconic shoes: the Louboutin pumps

The legendary red-soled shoes, acclaimed by the jet-set and which walk practically all the red carpets! It is said that the sole was colored red with the assistant’s enamel Louboutin because the designer wanted something that was not trivial. From there, the red sole was the hallmark of all his collections. The black patent leather pumps are a must-have for fashion victims, especially in the Pigalle model.

Iconic shoes: the Tod’s moccasin

The shoes he loved so much to Lady Diana and which were an essential style detail throughout the 80s and 90s. Today moccasins are made in many different ways, but the classic ones with rubber studs have made history.

Iconic shoes: Valentino’s Rockstuds

These are the decollete tied at the ankle whose laces are embellished with small studs. In the collection, there are also low ballet flats, always with a slightly pointed tip and with the hem enriched by the iconic pyramidal studs.

Iconic shoes: Chanel slingbacks

Legend has it that Mademoiselle Chanel had a long foot and who, to remedy what she considered a defect, created her two-tone slingbacks. The blacktip in contrast with the light color of the back of the shoe created an optical effect whereby the foot is smaller.

Iconic shoes: Doc Marten’s combat boots

These shoes too have been an icon of a generation, indeed more than one! Now, these amphibians are experiencing another golden moment, but, for lovers of rock and grunge style, their determination has never waned!
