No problem, you can easily remedy this by purchasing Chromecast, an HDMI device produced by Google, which, after connecting to the Internet, allows you to transmit content from YouTube (but also from many other applications compatible with Android and iOS) directly to the TV, using the Google Cast protocol.

At the time of writing, the Google “stick” is available in two versions: one Basic, which costs € 39 and allows you to view videos up to a resolution of 1080p; then, there is Chromecast with Google TV, which costs € 69.99 and, in addition to having support for up to 4K resolutions with HDR, comes with remote control and Google TV operating system.

To use the dongle, simply connect it to a free HDMI port on the TV and to the power outlet (or just to a USB port on the TV, if you are using the base model of the device) and connect it to the Internet using the application. Google Home, available for both Android and iPhone. Once Chromecast is connected to the Internet, it is possible to start broadcasting the contents from the smartphone in the same way as seen in the previous chapter of this guide; for more information, take a look at mine Chromecast operating guide, in which you will find everything explained in great detail.

In addition to Chromecast, you can “enable” any TV to receive content from YouTube for smartphones, tablets and computers using any other HDMI device on which you can install the application of the same name, such as Amazon’s Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube, Apple TV, Android TV box or NOW Smart Stick, just to give you some examples.
